Eskhata Bank: "We support women's entrepreneurship!"

Sojida Akhmedova is a successful businesswoman, a client of Eskhata Bank. She created her own business in 2006. She rented a small room in the "Panjsher" Shopping Center in Dushanbe and opened a wedding boutique. Initially, she purchased 10 wedding dresses, and offered them for rental. Gradually, her business expanded to 30 wedding dresses and additional premises for rent. In 2010 – 2011, Sojida opened two more wedding boutiques in Dushanbe. Thanks to her hard work, dedication and extensive experience in entrepreneurship, today she occupies a stable position and has a stable income. It is these women of Tajikistan who are an example of successful women who can become inspirations for aspiring businesswomen. And such a program as "Women in Business" supports the development of women's entrepreneurship in Tajikistan.

On December 20, a meeting with women entrepreneurs took place in the conference hall of the Rumi Hotel in Dushanbe. This meeting was organized and held within the framework of the Women in Business program. Partner of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) program in the framework of the CAWiB project.

The program promotes entrepreneurship among women by providing access to finance and technological solutions necessary to ensure business growth.

We remind that the "Women in Business" program was first launched in Tajikistan in September 2017 and Eskhata Bank became the first bank in the country to receive investments for the implementation of this program.

More than 30 entrepreneurs and other invited guests from Dushanbe and Districts of republican subordination took part in this meeting, which was held in the format of a seminar. The mentor of the seminar was Masuda Ziyabayeva, coordinator of "Women in Business" project of Eskhata Bank.

Furkatullo Ismatullayev, Head of the Marketing and Development Department of Eskhata Bank made a welcoming speech and expressed gratitude to the guests and participants for accepting the invitation.

Then Malika Abdulvasieva, a consultant of the EBRD CAWIB program in Tajikistan, gave a brief overview of the EBRD program "Women in Business in Central Asia". A small business consultation session on "Gender aspects and barriers to women's access to finance" was also held by Lola Salimova, a national expert on gender issues of the EBRD, and a master class on "How to promote business through social networks", which was conducted by Victoria Petrova, SMM specialist at IWPR.

Madina Gaforova, a leading economist in the corporate lending sector of Eskhata Bank presented "Imcon" product, a loan for the support and development of women's entrepreneurship in Tajikistan.

"To date, the amount of loans issued to "Imkon" has amounted to over 39 million TJS, and the number of clients is 1.5 thousand women. We are glad that we are partners of the "Women in Business| program and, together with the EBRD, contribute to the further prosperity of Tajik women's business. Today, women successfully manifest themselves in business along with men and are conscientious clients of the bank. Eskhata Bank plans to organize a couple more meetings with women, but this time for entrepreneurs of Sughd and Khatlon regions"- noted Umarjon Umarov, Head of the Corporate and Small Business Department of Eskhata Bank.

The meeting ended with feedback from the seminar participants, according to which it was possible to analyze that they needed technical support in the form of expert consultations and seminars. They expressed gratitude to the organizers of the meeting and noted that they would be happy to take part in the regular events of the "Women in Business" program once again.
