Press release: “Eskhata Bank continues its development under the supervision of the new Chairman of the Management Board”

On February 13, 2020, Mr. Rainer Müller-Hanke, who previously held the position of member of the the Supervisory Board of Eskhata Bank OJSC, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Management Board of Eskhata Bank OJSC and replaced Nazarov Akbar Abdushukurovich, who has headed the Bank since the beginning of 2018.

The decision was made by the Bank’s Supervisory Board in order to further develop and implement the business strategy of Eskhata Bank, taking into account the introduction of advanced technologies and best international practices in the field of banking and in order to comply with the status of a systemically important Bank

“The choice to appoint the head of Eskhata Bank to this position fell on Mr. Rainer Müller-Hanke, taking into consideration his extensive experience working in key positions in foreign commercial banks, as well as in international banking as a whole. We are sure that his rich experience and professional opinion of the leader will support Eskhata Bank in its development as an innovative and technologically advanced Bank, as time and our customers demand”.

Rainer Müller-Hanke was born in 1960 in Germany. He has over twenty-five years of banking experience in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as in the Russian Federation. He has a master's degree in economics from the Free University of Berlin, studied economics at the Universities of Heidelberg and Madrid.

Mr. Müller-Hanke has extensive experience working as the manager (CEO) of KMB Bank - the bank of the Italian group Intesa Sanpaolo in Russia, Swedbank - the bank of the Swedish group Swedbank in Ukraine, and as a member of the Supervisory Board in FinComBank of Moldova and AccessBank CJSC in Azerbaijan.

In the past, he was also a member of the Management Committee of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce in Moscow, a senior banking consultant of the International Consulting Company, a co-chairman of the EBRD Russian Small Business Fund program, a senior coordinating consultant in partner banks of Russia.
