Bank Eskhata has signed the agreement with EBRD for receiving the first tranche of the loan funds.

Bank Eskhata has signed the agreement for receiving the first tranche from EBRD in equivalent amount of 3 million USD in TJS for further lending small and medium businesses and households.
The EBRD launches an innovative financing program aimed to minimize consequences of climate changes. It happens when the world authorities gathered at the Conference on climate COP21 in Paris. The program PPCR (Pilot Program for Climate Resilience) came as the partner.
“Tajikistan becomes the first country-recipient according to the pilot financing program for resistance to influence of climate changes. It is one of the countries, which is the most vulnerable to climate changes, particularly lack of water resources. Loans will be directed to small businesses and households” – marked member of the EBRD.
It is worth noting that the new funding mechanism consists of EBRD lending funds and PPCR concessional funds under climate financing by CIF multilateral funds. Line of credit will be directed to small businesses including farmers, and households for projects on rising usage efficiency of water, energy and land resources.
Lending will be carried out along with programs of technical collaboration with the EBRD financial support and the UK government through the DFID.
As for Bank Eskhata, there are necessary funds for realization of social ecological projects, oriented to support small business and households sectors, and for collaboration in common goals achievement on climate preservation, environment protection and stable development.
On the eve of the Conference on climate COP21 in Paris, the EBRD adopted new and higher standards of financing climate programs with purpose to invest 40% of its annual income in projects of resources stability until 2020. The EBRD already suggests similar credit lines for energy efficiency programs, and for small projects on renewable energy, which are popular in the private sector.
OJSC “Bank Eskhata” ranks the 5th place by the assets among the largest banks; and its activity is concentrated on co-operation with SMB. The EBRD is one of the shareholders and one of the most reliable partners of Bank Eskhata for many years.
